Day 8
MATTHEW 18:3 “I ASSURE YOU,” HE SAID, “UNLESS YOU ARE CONVERTED AND BECOME LIKE CHILDREN, YOU WILL NEVER ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
I have loved Christmastime since I was a little child – every bit of it! From the decorations to celebrations to church services and nativity scenes. It’s just a magical time of year – for kids and adults alike!
One of my favorite stories about my nephew Michael happened when he was about 2 and a half. It was Christmastime and he was hanging out with my Mom, his grandma. She was talking to him all about Christmas – the cookies, and decorating the tree, and celebrating Jesus. She asked him what he was going to ask for from Santa and his response was, “WE GOT LIGHTS!” that sweet boy was so excited about the lights on his tree that it never even occurred to him that there may be more in it for him.
Children have a simple faith. They see things for what they are. And, as science has stated, they understand the supernatural and miraculous power of God without even learning from us grownups.
How can you let go of some of your adult “knowledge” and have the faith of a child today?
