JOHN 5:6 WHEN JESUS SAW HIM LYING THERE AND LEARNED THAT HE HAD BEEN IN THIS CONDITION FOR A LONG TIME, HE ASKED HIM, “DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?”
Do we really want to get well? to be better than we have been? Whether your affliction is physical, mental, or emotional, do you really want to get well?
There are multiple case studies that show that the attitude of a patient directly affects the rate at which the patient heals. Patients who expected to get better and who wanted to get better did, in fact, heal at a faster rate.
I believe Jesus was pointing that out to the man in this passage from John. Jesus offers healing to us – it is right there in our grasp! But do we really want it?
Now, I know that this world is full of disease and we will all die one day. I am not arguing that we only die because we don’t want to live forever. But I am suggesting that we can be healed from much more if we had true hope in what we’ve already been given.
Scientists give credit to the individuals for willing themselves to heal. But those of us woh trust in Jesus know where our true healing comes from.
Where do you hope for healing?
