Day 5

JOB 17:15 WHERE THEN IS MY HOPE? WHO CAN SEE ANY HOPE FOR ME?

There are days when we still know that our hope has been found, but our thoughts tell us otherwise. Poor Job. I can’t blame him for wondering where his hope has gone.

The science of hope shows there are ways a person who has experienced trauma can persist and thrive.Persistence implies work and thriving is the result of that work. We must persist in our faith.

Job definitely experienced trauma. He lost his livelihood, his home, his family, his health – everything but his own life. Yet he persisted in his faith. Yet he persisted.

Are you feeling hopeless in this season of life? It is easy to get lost in our own traumas – big and small – and forget that we have hope, but we must persist. We have to find our hope again sometimes.

The final verse in the book of Job says, “Then Job died, old and full of days.” Even after all of that trauma, he lived a good life. If there was hope for Job (he found it!) then there is hope fo you, too.
