I have a podcast.
I thought you might want to know more about it. I believe everyone has a story that needs to be made known and my little podcast is no different.
Months ago, God started giving me the word KNOWN. I had no idea why that was my word from Him, but I started noticing that word everywhere. I began to recognize the desire we all have to be truly known; I recognized our desire to know the “real” version of others; and I recognized the intrinsic desire for all of us to know that which is greater than us.
So I paid attention. I made notes. I started writing about the many facets of that little one syllable word. And God kept molding and nudging.
Back before the word was given to me, I felt a growing desire to share more about God with the world. Am I supposed to write, Lord? Is is through art, God? Do you want me to speak, Father? So as this word swirled in my thoughts, I wondered how to share.
My church often invites members to share their stories. Some may call it a testimony or a journey, but I like the term story. I love hearing from others and I’ve often thought it would be nice to be able to search a huge network of the stories God has written in every life around me.
So I guess that’s what this is…a KNOWN Network!
My goal is for every story to be shared. Every. Story.
Let me address some thoughts and concerns you may be having here…first, you do have a story whether you think you do or not. Your life has meaning and purpose and lessons learned. Sharing your story may ignite a spark of hope in someone who feels alone or misunderstood. You never know who is listening and needs to hear exactly what you’ve lived.
Second, keeping secrets promotes shame. And shame is big lie. We all make mistakes and have regrets. Everyone has sins and skeletons in the closet. I dare you to fling open the closet doors and claim your forgiveness right in the face of that shame. Your brokenness makes way for your redemption. Someone else is waiting for their redemption story and will be encouraged by yours.
Most importantly, God’s story is in your story. Every little story that weaves through our own lives is part of the larger tapestry that is the story of God and His people. Let’s make Him KNOWN!
